HOUSTON - Child Protective Services was granted temporary
custody Wednesday of a newborn girl abandoned in west
Houston so that the agency can move forward in the
adoption process, Local 2 reported.

Marcos hospital

A mother abandoned her healthy baby girl at Central
Texas Medical Center in San Marcos on Monday afternoon.
A couple found the 8-day-old girl in the back of a
small truck in the hospital’s parking lot.

A 2-month-old baby boy found abandoned on the city's
South Side is said to be in good condition this afternoon.
A man found the infant in a pile of tires in an alley
just after midnight.

Newborn baby found in trash
can

It happened at the Jellico Welcome Center of I-75
in Campbell County. Welcome center employee Linda
Henson found the baby in the women's restroom. "Out
of the corner of my eye I saw movement out of the
trash can we got hanging on the wall, and I pulled
back a towel and there was a baby in a trash can,"
Henson says.
